    Default Saw Palmetto oil

Hello. My mpb started in my mid-twenties, I am now almost 58. In my twenties and thirties there wasn't much available that had any medical backing, apart from transplants, which I couldn't afford. However, I did follow the scalp exercise routine advised by a book I purchased in 1985. In my forties I began trying all of the by now familiar topical treatments as they came along, minoxidil, Dutasteride, Saw Palmetto extract (a watery liquid) etc. I had limited success and after a few years I stopped. However, I have kept a few good hairs here and there on my scalp, and I hoped that one day a genetic treatment would wake up my dormant clear baby hairs.
Several weeks ago I read about Saw Palmetto oil being used as a topical treatment and I ordered some capsules from a company in the UK. I massage the oil from one capsule in each day. I have now noticed many small hairs sprouting to the front, which have some pigment.
It may simply be important to obtain good quality Saw Palmetto oil.
I will keep you all posted on further progress, if any

    Hello epipapilla
At present I use a magnifying glass to see the growth, so it would need micro photography to see anything.
For practical reasons I can't see anything on top, only to the front, so I can't judge yet whether there is micro-regrowth all over or just to the front.
I will post a photo if there is anything more visible in a few months.

Though I haven’t used it personally, it would be great to hear some positive review. Online I have read that it works by inhibiting DHT. It stimulates your hair follicles activities and interacts with excessive hormones in your scalp that are preventing healthy growth and are also responsible for your hair loss!! But still I can’t digest it will have miracle hair growth. It would be good to keep at as an assistant to main therapy to conquer hair loss. Did you have initial shedding at first?

    Hi AnnaM
I haven't had any shedding so to speak, but maybe the newly growing baby hairs will fall out in a matter of weeks or months. This could be a very long term and limited recovery.
I wonder if most people use a weak Saw Palmetto extract, as I did some years ago.
