Scalp exercises won't make you grow more hair, but can increase the "stretchiness" of your scalp so that a wider strip can be excised without an increase in scarring. We ask all preop patients to do scalp exercises 3 times a day for a couple of weeks preop.

what are some good scalp exercises to do?

We have you pinch or squeeze the strip site on the back of your head, as if you are trying to compress the 2 sides of your scalp where your strip will be excised. Our patients do this a minute before every meal for 2 or 3 weeks preop. In fact a guy we are doing a 2nd case on right now, had a tight scalp last year, and was quite stretchable today. He did a great job with the exercises. Unfortunately he forgot and drank green tea so it was bloody....
