Why do hair fall out after discontinuing fin?

I've been reading about hair loss causes and stuff and I have a question about the hairloss after stopping using fin. Why does people loss hair at an accelerated rate after stopping fin or virtually any treatment? I mean if you stop the treatment your hair should recede at the same rate as it were before starting the treatment, as your hair follicles are not affected and will start miniaturizing as if they are just now being affected by mpb and you had never used the treatment. but that seems not to be the case.
