I'll probably wait a couple of years before taking fin as I am too young for it. I know the choices very well. fin would slow down the balding for 10 years most. A hair transplant is out of the question as I will probably proceed to a norwood 6-7. So a hair system would by my last option, shaving is out of the question as I don't look good bald my dad actually pulls it off pretty well and he looks better than when he had hair in his early twenties but I guess some people are just lucky.

My son (now 19) started taking fin when he was a little over 18. So far he's had no sides. I can't say that it's helped his shedding, but who knows? Maybe he'd have had a lot less hair by now if he never got on it. Your decision, though.

Stop worrying about those "what if's ". You don't avoid using bikes/cars/whatever either because there's a small risk you get an accident (and an even smaller risk you die), right? That's exactly how your logic sounds to me.

Regarding what your results will be, nobody can say for sure as it depends from person to person. However, even if fin would lose efficacy after 5-6 years (which it doesn't) then at least you had 5-6 years of good hair, which is great!

I think that I'll wait a year or so and if I progressed to norwood 2-2.5 I'll start taking fin, I think that is probably the best decision.
