Question regarding FUE vs FUT long term

Hello, I'm new to the forums. I've been doing a ton of research about HTs lately and have some questions.

I'm a 27 year old NW3. I've been losing my hair slowly since I've been about 18. It's just now getting to the point of annoying me.

    My question is:

Should I opt for a FUE transplant now with about 2,000 grafts in the front? I'll still continue to lose some hair over time so I know I'll need another procedure at some point.

Or should I opt for an FUT transplant to fill in the front with 2,000 grafts? What is the best option long term? Best option for multiple sessions over the course of years?

Also, I'm a little concerned about shaving my head for the FUE. Will the new hair grafts be visible after 1-2 weeks post op? Even if they're short it'd be nice to have something there rather than just receding hairline.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You'll continue to lose hair, unless you take some kind of Finasteride. I had my first FUT surgery 7 years ago when I was 23 and I haven't lost any hair since taking Propecia. I never got past NW 2. If you're not on it now, get on it before you even consider surgery.

If you get a good surgeon the scar will be minimal, and for these huge sessions I tend to think strip is superior.

Be really careful. Find a doc who will do the procedure with attention to detail. Fue can be great in the right expert hands. Some folks have had decent work with fut. But what kind of scar risk do you want? Ask yourself that. Pick a doc known for very high yield. See if you prefer surgery over 2 days versus one. See if your ok with technician extracting versus a doc? See if you are oj with working with docs that have more than one surgery a day on different individuals.

Be very careful in whatever you decide. Best of luck to you.
