I've been on propecia for almost 5 years and had no troubles with side-effects, besides a weird increase in libido during the first two weeks of use.
You probably don't hear too many of our stories, because, really, what's the point of talking about it? I never reveal my propecia use in every day life
Have you seen how many Lasik scare stories are written? People still get lasik and never talk about it afterwards

fair enough. I just go by my own experience and find it baffling that a drug that so thoroughly ****ed me up can be safe in others. I also have researched its mechanism and I find it pretty suspect to block an enzyme that has major roles in brain function (5ar). The lack of DHT is not even an issue I'm too worried about. I don't doubt that most people use it without major sides, but enough do and it's just too big a risk for me to take. Lasik has some scare stories, but at least I know that the risks are very remote. I am not convinced the same can be said of propecia, as most of the people who take it without sides are still taking it, and I don't know what will happen when they stop, or over say 20 years. My uncles got eye surgery before there were even lasers, and it did mess with them a bit, but they can still see and have working brains and genitals.
