Default Am I beginning to go bald?

Hi, so I've always had a thick head of hair and have never given any thought to the possibility of balding, but recently a friend was joking around saying that I was going bald. I brushed it off but now I'm getting increasingly paranoid and would really appreciate some advice. I am a 19 year old male, my front hairline looks normal and hasn't developed any sort of a "U" shape, but I'm worried about the crown of my head. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Could just be stress related, but could also be MPB. Next time you go to the doctors or get a haircut, ask them, they will know for sure. (if the hairdresser doesnt know, get the most senior hairdresser to have a look, they will surely know).

Hi, do you have family history of alopecia? Most hair loss—by some accounts, as much as 95%— is due to genetics so check your family tree. MPB is genetically determined and can start as young as 20 years of age, but more commonly occurs amongst men between the ages of 25 and 35. Male Pattern Hair Loss can appear in many different patterns however, with the possibility of general thinning around the top of the scalp or a balding patch around the crown becoming prominent.

Another common cause of baldness is the level of testosterone in the body, which can be dictated by your genetics and stress. Try stress releasing activities, or spend more quality time with your family. Few other medical problems that can trigger hair loss are infection ringworm, thyroid problems etc. In any case, a professional help is recommended.
