It sure looks promising, and you are right about the WNT pathway. It is definitely backed up by a number of studies. I'm very happy that there are a number of companies out there looking to create a new topical treatment. I have had high hopes for Follica, but it is taking quite a bit of time and we're not hearing anything, so it's hard to stay enthusiastic. Competition is good, the patent for propecia is expired, and the race is on to dominate the hair loss treatment market.

It's funny how divided this community is. Some people seem to have very little hope for the foreseeable future, while others believe things wil get a lot better soon (soon as in "in the next 5 years" or so).

In other words, the people that have been around for a while and know how things work out and the new people that come, hear any news and are optimistic

Basically, yeah, that. Anyone who has spent any amount of time lurking or posting on hair loss forums will not fall for the "cure in 5 years" schtick. I remember in 2002 people were convinced we were on the cusp of a breakthrough.

In the next 5 years? Probably a slight improvement on Fin and Minox. Norwood 4 and under might have something to give decent coverage.

There are not a lot in terms of concrete results in the last 20 years so I think its fine to have a healthy dose of skepticism until we see some actual real studies or results showing something works for certain.
