Newbie with frontal thinning (pics included)

Hey All,
Long time lurker and first time poster

Im a 36yr old male and my front hairline has gradually been getting worse over the past five years.

My crown and everywhere else on my head is absolutely fine with no signs of thinning...just going very grey (thank god for just for men!)

Currently looking at options for restoring the thickness in my front hairline, not fussed about trying to get my juvenile hairline back but would like to even it all out a bit.

Almost wish it would all recede evenly and be done with rather than the scraggly mess it is when pushed back. Im counted by wearing my hair pushed further forward......

I have exactly the same problem. What options have you decided to go with?

It seems like a hair transplant may be a possible solution to the issue you are having. Minoxidil/finasteride also may help(though not as much for hairline as crown...they have been shown to help). Regardless, you should get in person consults with a few physicians to get medical advice on this.

Hey bham1, at the moment Im waiting to have a few consultations. A hair transplant is definitely an option to restore hairline density but to be honest if its going to be crazy money Ill just shave my head/change style for the time being....

Fin / min seem to work better for younger patients. Your hair is fantastic (albeit thinning a bit), I wouldn't shave it until it gets really bad. If your worried about cost an normally keep your hair longer, FUT is considerably cheaper than FUE as a transplant technique.

Why not trying finasteride? It is more affordable than a hair transplant. Moreover, your hair still looks normal and it would be great if you at least stop the hair loss.

Ive read many conflicting views across different forums about Fin and frontal thinning?

Looking at photos my hairs been this way since the early 30s, Im getting my haircut so I can style it forward a bit more which I imagine should help hide some of thinness!

I have consultation in Bristol next month so will update accordingly....

Ive read that Fin/Min is better served on the young uns, Im turning 37 soon!

The money side isn't so much an issue just that I dont really know if I can justify it to myself dropping ££££ into a transplant, that being said as its become more noticeable it has definitely affected my confidence.

If I go for it I'll probably go for FUE solely based on my own research, it'll be interesting to see what the various Dr's say
