I can't say for certain because I am just starting this, but I have been asking around for over a year. I heard if you shed it can get a lot worse in the beginning months, but it comes back. 3 months is around the time when you see changes I believe. Again this is based off the info I have gotten from others. I personally used ketokonozol for 3 months and stopped because I was losing a lot of hair. and only like 3/4 of my hair grew back after 2 years. So no more keto for me. ...I would keep it up. I think in a month or two you should notice new hairs growing back. May take longer. Everyone is different. One thing I would do is go for blood work to see where your testosterone and dht levels are at on propecia. ...you do not want your dht too low, or too high. I think when people bottom out their dht for too long they can run into problems. Again, just my opinion. ...I would never try dut or fin without before and after blood work and follow up blood work every 3 months. But thats just me.

One week into my trt protocol at 30mg cyp every other day and set to get blood work in 3 more weeks so doc can put me on DUT. Doc said I can start on minoxidil 5% with Azelic acid right away, which i did the day I started Trt up again. Noticed a distinct libido crash after 6th day and 7th, which was today, no desire for sex, had to force rubbing one out, and had to resort to porn and it took major work to finish the job. Weak erections. No morning wood which didn't happen even while off trt. This shit is definitely effecting my sex drive. (I tried it two years ago and had to pitch it because it did the same thing.)

Anybody have sides due to minoxidil but got along ok on DUT once they got their T up? ...My only hope is DUT now. But I'm skepticle, if minoxidil is effecting me this way I can only imagine what DUT will due. ...Not happy right now.

And no it is not in my head. My johnson not hanging like it used to, balls are tight. I know it's only one week but like I said the same thing happened when I tried it and only went back because the doctor assured me it doesn't effect libido. Well, he's wrong.

This whole post sounds a bit hysterical and psychosomatic. I don't see how it could make your "balls tight," assuming you mean the sack. That's skin. Sex hormones, at least to my knowledge, don't play a role in that. Its homeostasis has more to do with ambient temperature.

I won't comment on sex drive as it's a listed side effect, although I do believe there were more people reporting sex related sides taking the placebo than the actual drug.

That said, I have very little respect for men who take testosterone supplements.

If you're taking topical minoxidil, I can't imagine how it could possibly be affecting your sex drive save on a purely psychological level.. it's probably all in your head.

I have very little respect for people who have little respect for people who take testosterone replacement therapy when they have been diagnosed with hypogonadism and have a testosterone level of 190 and osteoporosis as a result. ...Tried to come off trt for 6 to 8 months and felt weak, but took pregnenolone and sex drive was fine. Had to jump back on TRT again to keep from advancing osteoporosis and i'm just trying to keep my hair if I can. went from raging hardons on pregnenolone and super sex drive to almost zero sexual desire within one week on test and minoxidil. Perhaps I need the test to set in, but the minoxidil is definitely having a negative effect. Like I said, it happened before. Tried it again because some rocket scientist said it was all in my head. It is not in my head. ...My question is has anyone ditched Minoxidil because of sides and switched to DUT with no sides.

There is no physiologic reason that topical minoxidil in therapeutic doses should have any effect on sex drive. None. It operates a potassium channel which dilates arterioles and not venules. There really isn't any reason that libido should be affected.

Rogaine foam: Decreased libido is also a possible side effect, according to the University of Iowa.

Sorry, I know you're trying to help. I'm just a little twisted. My bad.

What is the exact side effect that you're having? Minoxidil shouldn't affect hormones at all. It could possibly have an effect similar to anti-hypertensives as related to erection and blood flow, but topical use shouldn't cause that, and honestly, minoxidil is kind of a crappy medication for hair loss. I doubt it ever did anything for me except give me crazy dermatitis and flaking. Dutasteride is the only thing that has given me results thus far.
