Dr. Lindsey: This strip is a great illustration of how hair grows in Follicular Units

I excised this strip recently on a guy from the central Pacific islands. What a great example of follicular units. You can easily see how hair grows in 1s, 2s, 3s, and 4s. As most of you all know, its these follicular unit families that cutters dissect out for transplantation. Additionally, most of these families contain a resting hair or 2, associated erector muscles, and sebaceous glands.

While I realize most of you guys know this, its such a nice picture showing these groupings, the patient and I wanted to share this.
