Dr. Lindsey 5 month check after 2500 frontal "U" McLean VA
This young man stopped by 5 months out from a 2500 graft case. He looks good and ought to be fantastic at a year. His scar line is pretty typical at this time frame and is easily concealed by his short haircut. Although it does appear that the hair above his strip scar is darker...its just that he still is a bit thin from peri-strip shockloss.
For lack of a better term, I've been calling these cases frontal "u" cases as the recipient area looks like a U when I start making slits. I've posted lots of these and the patient and I always labor over whether this is the best option.
On one hand, preserving that tuft up front lets people really look much less operated upon immediately after suture removal. Particularly if its left a little longer than this guy chose to do.
On the other hand IF that frontal tuft is destined to go to MPB...well it will need addressing, but fortunately when I've had to do that, the hair already transplanted in the "u" session is adequate to cover the signs of tuft surgery.
There is probably no right answer on this for everyone, so I offer the pros and cons and let the patient decide in an informed way.
Almost certainly we'll be back to address farther back in the future. I'll put up 1 year pics when he's in town next.
