I'm in the same boat at the moment, zero progress (in terms of healthier hair, stronger hair, or regrowth) after being on fin for 13 months. I may have maintained but it's hard to say really as I would need to wait at least another year to notice any further loss i.e. with my diffuse hair loss always being so gradual over the past decade.

So now I'm tempted (through sheer sleepless desperation) to try dutasteride.

One thing I will say (which may or may not be of any interest) is that I had my DHT blood levels tested before starting fin and I already had DHT levels in the "low end of normal".

    look man
i been using Propecia for 2 years, during that time the hair just stopped falling, there's only one solution to get your hair back (and its not Propecia nor avodart).

for me eventually Propecia stopped working and hair started falling again, i lost all the hair that maintained and then some more. Then I moved on to avodart, which just maintained what i have, and now after a year i'm shedding again.

eventually i started doing my research on hair transplant and now i'm in the process of booking an FUE appointment, plan is to stop taking all pills and fight it with FUE (keep in mind either why even with the pills and FUE to get a solid hair line it would take few sessions)

oh and i dont even want to talk about the side effects of all this pills, once you take pills that strong then the averages turn against you.

i recommend you to stop wasting your money and health on those pills and look into FUE procedure.

    cheers

    ps
i wish i knew this years ago

      Thanks for the response mate.

Unfortunately for me I am diffuse thinning allover the top, so I think that hair transplant is most likely out of the question, I mean I'm not sure if there would even be enough donor hair to cover my extent of thinning area, I would essentially then be completely bald at the back due to having no hair left in the donor area haha not a good look!

Thing is though if you or anyone else has a hair transplant, then you are 100% dependant on the DHT suppressant pills, because you can't simply then forget about inhibiting DHT at post-transplant stages, as if you do that then you'll end up needing need a ton more continual transplants as your balding progresses. That's why I simply don't like the idea of transplants. You could end up with a very strange looking head if you don't think things through properly.

        1) its always best to go and visit few different specialists (usually consultations are free) and see what they have to say, and then you would know for sure if a transplant is for you. i've seen guys with zero hair on scalp ( youtube it )and they had mega fue sessions and now they have more hair then me. therefore its always best to go to the pro and talk.

2)sure for the first few months after the fue i will continue taking the pills, but after the shock period is over then i will stop and fight this only with fue. i think i've been taking these pills for bunch of years now and i can tell you for sure that it has effected my size of my dick, erections during sex and the morning ones. idk how old you are, but i'm 31 and at this point in my life it just doesn't worth it. i rather have fue's done every year but have a good healthy sex drive and a full dick.

btw i'm having my first fue on feb 10,

        cheers

Thanks for the tips mate, I'll defo research FUE's, as I haven't looked into them too much, just read things about them on the forums whilst browsing.

I'm 35 years old. I've been on Finasteride for 13 months and sexually speaking it's had zero affect on me so far, everything is as normal in that department, touch wood! (pun intended).

Best of luck with your first FUE treatment too. If you remember, then please come back on this thread and drop us an update!

its not the sexual drive that is gone, but the how full my dick is, keep in mind that i've been using propecia for 24mos and now avodart for at least 12mos,

i think this is the side effects of a long term use,
yeas sure once i have fue done i try to update you over here

I'm a 22 year old male with a light complexion and very fine reddish-blonde hair, been thinning since 17. I started applying minoxidil foam 1.5 years ago (Aug '17) twice a day, and then moved to once a day roughly a year ago. Rate of hair loss for this first year was the same as before I started treatment. 6 months ago (June '18) I added 1.25 mg generic proscar to my regimen, and since then my hair loss has gotten noticeably worse; I now have diffuse thinning all over the top of my head, in addition to hairline recession. I also have had pretty consistent right testicle ache since taking the drug (0/10-3/10 on the pain scale), and my body hair/facial hair have gotten slightly thinner. I added jojoba oil and vitamins K2 and D a few weeks ago, and I've also been using Nizoral 3-4 times a week for a year. Any suggestions? Worried I might have Reflex Hyperandrogenicity, which would suck ass.

I started taking dut after taking fin for 18 months with no results. I got some regrowth in the first year and had maintenance or extremely slow loss for the next 5 years.
