Default 24 and worried about my hair

    Hi Guys,

Took me a while to join this forum as I am sticking my head in the sand when it comes to my hairline.

I am 24 and I suspect I have a NW3 hairline. I currently have taken to growing my hair to try and hide my incredibly high temples, however, it is really starting to get me down now and I seem to spend the best part of my day thinking about my hair.

My hairdresser says I have nothing to worry about, as do my family. However, I have recently received a couple of comments of my friends about my high hairline and thats what I take to heart most.

I don't know what to expect from replies here guys, but I thought I have to write something down.

    Thanks for listening!

Can you show us any pictures?

Also, you didn't say anything about balding. Is your 'high' hair line your natural hair line or has your hair line been receding for the last couple of years? If you are balding, how's your crown/overall density doing?

My crown is fine, I have quite thick hair, it is just the hairline which is of major concern.

I have never had the perfect NW1 hairline, but I'm fairly certain it was not this bad a few years ago!

    Thanks for you input

Hmm I see what you mean. Your crown being fine is a good thing though.

Do you have any miniaturized hairs (smaller "baby" hairs) at your hair line? This is important as it will give you an idea of whether your hair line is receding at the moment

Considering that my fringe is about 4-5 inches long, I do have a few hairs around my hairline which are a few cm long.

Do those few cm hairs also look weak-ish and thin?

Best thing you can do by the way is to go to a dermatologist who knows something about hair loss (they can be hard to find) and let him/her examine your hair line. If you have miniaturized hairs in your hair linr then that means that you are indeed receding.

But really, usually when you think you're balding (or receding), you indeed are. So best thing is to get on fin if you want to stop the recession.
