Default Strip Scar Causing Line in Hair

    Hi all,

So I am 17 days removed from a 2400 graft FUT procedure and everything has progressed well. That being said, there is a clear line in my hair right around where my strip scar is. The best way to describe it is it almost looks as if I was wearing a hat for a while, except the hat-head-looking indentation cuts off where my scar ends on both sides. If I pull my hair up to reveal the strip scar, it almost looks like the area around it (about a centimeter or so) was cleanly shaven, which I assume could be to some sort of shock loss.

Is there any way to mask this? I've tried hair thickening fibers to not much avail. Was wondering if possibly a hair cut (with me telling the barber the goal is to mask the area around the scar) could hide it? Might be worth noting I also naturally have very light and thin hair so my scar has the potential to be more noticeable than others through my hair.

Any ideas and/or responses are very appreciated.

    Thanks!

The area looks like it was shaven because it may have been. Some clinics do this so they can better visualize the donor zone and reduce damage to the neighboring follicles. These hairs should come back fairly soon. There could be some shock loss mixed in with this but it too should come back if the procedure was efficiently performed.

Thickening fibers such as Toppik don't do much because it is very difficult to apply at such an odd angle. I know some patients have used Dermatch on the donor zone post surgery to help camouflage the area (it works well) but there is no way that I know that that this indentation can be remedied since it is basically caused by a lack of hair. You'd have to fill in this area to make up for the missing volume. The only thing to do unfortunately is wait it out and let the area fill in again.
