Exclamation Transest and other HT options in Turkey

    Hi,

I am wanting some advice about hair transplants abroad and have come across the Transest Clinic and one or two others in Istanbul, Turkey, offering prices for about $2000-$3000, less in UK £ for a 4000 graft. I am form the UK, but UK prices are unaffordable to me.

I have read reviews, but most seem too good to be true. I wonder if anyone has any experience of Istanbul clinics, and can offer me any tips before I go ahead with a hair transplant.

    Thank You

Hi Mate, I was just wondering if you ever booked yourself in for a HT? I've just booked myself in for a FUE at Transest. I was tempted by the cheap price!

It’s astonishing to me that people are willing to go to unvetted hair transplant clinics just to save money. There are two great HT surgeons in Turkey who are in the IAHRS and who post some incredibly impressive pictures on this forum. I’m sure they are all about the same price in Turkey so you should really do more research and make sure you are going with a qualified surgeon.

You are completely right, I rushed into the decision and based my research on the vast positive reviews on 'whatclinic' and 'realself'. I didn't realise this clinic use standard Dr's and Nurses and not hair transplant specialists. I have now cancelled this appointment and I'm currently trying to find a decent clinic who can do my procedure on the same date. I'm hoping that Dr Erkan Demirsoy can fit me in, but its possible he might be booked up. If I can't get an appointment I'm going to cancel my plane tickets and sulk for the next year :-(

Check out these two doctors who are both in the IAHRS. I have also heard good things about Dr Erkan Demirsoy, so I’m not sure why he’s not in the organization, but he seems well respected too so he would most likely be a good choice.

    Hello j,b,,guys
I understand that due to a recent ishrs both drs mentioned below are going to be expelled from their ranks along with anyone else that uses techs for extractions so even Lorenzo will be cast out.
The ishrs members had to sign up that they would only have drs doing extractions if they do not comply they will be expelled.
Erdoğan and demirsoy are both excellent IMO.
Demirsoy definitely does not get mentioned anywhere near enough considering his capabilities IMO.
    Have a good day

Those two are definitely very good surgeons but way over his budget.

I genuinely think you cannot find a "Hair" surgeon for the price range you wanted. If you want to minimise the risk of ending with poor results, you should search for international qualifications, and the hair surgeons with those kind of qualifications doesn't come that cheap, understandably..

Though, when I did my research, Dr. Doganay's team gave me a very cheap quote, almost beating any other clinic and I was very surprised.. Once I asked why they are so cheap, with a fineprint, I'm told that his "team" will do the operation.

I had my operation in transest clinic /istanbul and ı am so pleased so far , Regarding price, communication and professionalism they were good. The only thing I may mention to those people who like to visit down town is that the hotel is far and close to airport area but it's a nice 4 stars hotel and by the way breakfast is the only meal included plus one meal during surgery. I consider 1590 euros is a good price but I can't say if I am satisfied cause my surgery was only two months ago but I think results will be promising with 4100 grafts transplanted. I have to say thanks from all of my heart to Mr. Aytach for his excellent and professional arrangement and to all Transest clinic staff. I highly recommend this clinic. (MARK/UK)

Can you show us the results of your surgery? It should have been at least 9 months now
