    Default Vasocontrictor vs. Vasodilator

I just came across this article: http://www.channel3000.com/news/uw-p...erapy/27678226. A vasoconstrictor was used to constrict the blood vessels and thereby prevent this lady's hair loss during chemotherapy. Conversely, vasodilators widen the blood vessels, thus allowing blood to flow more freely to the scalp and promote hair growth. Piddly-ass minoxidil is a very weak vasodilator that really doesn't cause any consistent hair regrowth, which leads me to believe that if a strong vasodilator was used, more substantial regrowth could occur. Quite ironically a lot of erectile dysfunction drugs are strong vasodilators (like tadalafil or avanafil) and I wonder if stronger vasodilator were used in topical form to regrow hair, it could have a much more potent effect than a very weak vasodilator like minoxidil. I've often heard it bandied about that the cure to hair loss could be as simple as something like this, and sometimes I really tend to agree.
