Who do I go to for a full FUE transplant?
Hello all, 30 y/o male, Norwood 6ish (in between a 5 and a 6) who lives in Southern California. I have been waiting for a long time to get a hair transplant/transplants. I want full coverage but don't want to look like Wayne Rooney. I now have the funds to do it right and I am willing to travel. Whom do I go to?
Thanks,
PVM

Dr. Umar in California is pretty good from what I have read, but you need to do your research.

Are there any Norwood 7s in you family? The coverage you get depends heavily upon your donor hair characteristics. If you can, have a look at your father's and your mother's father's donor area. Did it thin as they aged? Lots to consider, for example, do you think you will ever want to shave your head? If you wear your hair very short you may want to consider mixing some beard hair in your recipient areas.
I would take it slow and go for a few smaller sessions. For starters perhaps 2,500 grafts to improve the frontal area. The most common complaints we hear from repair patients is misuse of multiple hair grafts, poor hairline design and scarring.

I would go to Dr. Cole or wait for Dr. Wesley's technology to be released. Both seem to be able to get rid of pigmentation and scarring, and that is something that is key when extracting a lot of grafts and body grafts.

If you have lost approximately 50% of your hair about 50,000 strands and you have an estimated 30% available from the donor area of about 15,000 hairs what are your expectations and plans for placement? You have stated you don’t like the Wayne Rooney look. Would you place those 15,000 hairs in a design that would be different? Maybe a higher hairline with a bald crown giving you more density where the lateral humps connect and perhaps additional density in the forelock or would you do something different?
How exactly would you place those 15,000 hairs that would be acceptable to you?
