    Default Recent topical spironolactone studies?

I keep seeing online that topical spironolactone works at reducing levels of dht at the scalp but where are the RECENT studies? Has anyone ever seen any before and after photos? Only only thing I can find are these old studies from the 80's. I can't believe no one is doing any research on the benefits of using topical spiro as a hairloss treatment in this decade!

    Default Topical Spiro

I agree, where are the topical Spiro studies and pictures of results if it really does inhibit scalp DHT?

I would imagine that since spironolactone is a drug that has been available for 20+ years that a company would not want to invest tons of money into performing studies to prove its effectiveness (what good would they get out of it, no profits....). If they actually do provide studies that show spiro's effectiveness, more companies and online vendors would start making their own concoctions of spironolactone topicals and the company that invested $ in studies in the first place would end up with virtually nothing....

    It's all about $ guys...but that's just my 2 cents

Default How about some before and after photos?

Thanks for the replies. Spironolactone has be around for a while but not in topical form. I would just like to see some before and after photos of anyone out there that's getting positive results. I can't even find that!

It must work to a certain degree, as doctors have been prescribing oral spirolactone it for women's hairloss for quite some time now. In men, only the topical form is safe, because the oral form causes breast formation and other side effects.
