17 and balding, is it time to say goodbye?

Hi this is my first post on the forum! I'm 17 been receding at the temple for some time now and recently started thinning (all before the age of 18!)
I'm constantly fixing my hair and trying to cover my temples as they looked receded even as a child! (Not joking, two rounded patches of hairlessness at the temples.
So my two questions are:
1-Should I cut my loses and just shave it? Maybe not to a shiny dome but to short buzz..
2-should I shave it even if I've a awkward head shape (birth defect nothing I can do about it) I mean it's not bad but you'd notice a slight difference.

Also I've no intention to use any of those anti balding hair products..

This pretty much sums it up. Choosing option 1 or 2 is really up to you and what you prefer to look like.
