"Wonder pill" to cure MPB in 5 years.

Is this just alopecia areata because it never really seems to say that. I think they are not primarily talking about MPB but still they mention it a few times and this article is august of this year. Sounds good to me and I do agree in the next 5-10 years there will be something significantly better than what we have. Getting closer to understanding areata might bring new insights for MPB into light too. We know a lot more now than we did 10 or 20 years ago
I dont know the reliability of this site others mentioned its garbage so maybe this is just hype filler to get clicks. They dont really say much specifics.

Do you know what insanity is? It is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. In this case it would be believing this guy, they have been speaking like this since the 1970's . 45 years later, still pretty far from a cure.

I would agree that given the long history of MPB its hard to be optimistic. I do think though you have to try to stay positive to some extent even if the realistic part of you doubts the cure is coming soon. Maybe they is why they write these articles just to give men hope verses being realistic that there wont be anything in the next 10 years

They're not just insane... they're also incompetent.

I have AA, so I am definitely looking forward to this drug. I would like to try it now, I wonder how can I sign up for some trial thingy.

I just signed up for Columbia University alopecia areata test stuff. I doubt I qualify, but it does not hurt to try. I am coming off a FUE, only 5 months, I put that on there. So I doubt they pick me. The test for ruxolitinib is closed as far as joining as a test subject but it's ongoing, the test for tofacinititib will start Sept-Oct and only 10-15 subjects will be chosen. Then there's 2 other tests. All 4 are for Alopecia Areata.

What ever the case, I hope one of them works 100% and gets immediate release for prescription use for AA sufferers.

Why they didn't do a trial for AGA is beyond stupid.

It is interesting because we have been assuming that JAK inhibitors only act on the immune system and thus they would only work on AA/AU. But as Dr Christiano and this patent suggest JAK inhibitors seem to also stimulate follicle stem cells. This point is crucial for their potential effectiveness in MPB.
