making fin more effective

Is there anyway to make finasteride more effective?

For example, I've heard of people supplementing it with dutasteride - either daily (1mg fin; 0.5mg dut) or on "off-days" (e.g. fin: Tue, Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun; dut: Mon & Thur).

I've also heard of people taking it with L-Lysine tablets.

Please offer your experiences and suggestions.
