Apart from combating dandruff, does Nizoral shampoo actually do much?
It claims here (http://www.progressivehealth.com/nizoral-shampoo.htm) that patients were divided into the following test groups, and that all experienced "significant hair growth."
Starting with the most successful, the groups were:
(a) 1 mg/day oral finasteride + 2% topical minoxidil solution
(b) 1 mg/day oral finasteride + 2% ketoconazole shampoo
(c) 1 mg per day of oral finasteride
(d) 2% topical minoxidil solution
I currently take 1mg finasteride each day (started just over a year ago), but I'm looking to add something extra to my regime.
Although minoxidil seems to be the obvious answer, I'm reluctant to pursue it just yet, and would prefer to try something else beforehand.
The above study sounds good, but perhaps the data is too limited.
I'd love to hear if anyone has seen good results from Nizoral (or any other ketoconazole shampoo), or if you've found it to be of little value.
Thanks.
