Default Barber Said I was starting to thin, Am I?

I've always had, since I was a kid, a rather far back hairline, especially at the corners. What I am more concerned about is what is going on where hair is actually growing, and if it thinning. What do you all think? I am obviously extremely worried that my barber would mention this, because my uncles on my mothers side have almost all lost their hair. I'm only 20!

You might be starting to thin, but it's honestly not too bad. I would say mainly it's on the hairline where the temples have receded and there's slight frontal thinning. As for your crown, to me it looks normal, considering we all have hair whorls where the hair changes direction, others may disagree and possibly say it's thinning, but the crown looks fine imo, just keep an eye on it. Again it's mainly the thinning on the hairline and the recession in the temples. Plus if you have a strong family history of MPB, you don't have great odds. In terms of treatments, the best ones to use are Propecia, Minoxodil (can be regaine/kirklands for example), and perhaps nizoral shampoo (these are the big 3). The most important one to use and the one I'd advise you to start is Propecia, which generally thickens hair up and can prevent further loss. So it might be time to start the big 3, which would give you the best chance of saving your hair, and possibly regrowth. But nevertheless, don't let this get you down. Overall you still have great hair, and you've done the best thing by catching it relatively early, as prevention is better than cure. Things aren't always doom and gloom with MPB. Starting Propecia would be best imo, but to reiterate, you're hair still looks good despite recession and I genuinely think you can prevent further balding with the right treatment. As well as living a life full of good hair. Good luck!

Thank you so much! Just to reiterate, my temples have always been that far back. I have pictures of me as a kid where it looks like I have a mature hairline already. It was mainly the thinning I was worried about. Thanks for the advice, and kind words. I will schedule a dermatologist apointment ASAP.
