Dr. Lindsey Complex scar case part 1 McLean VA
This young man was in a car accident a few years ago and has a curvilinear scar which widened significantly. Although its conceivable that he is just a poor scarrer, the firmness of the scar suggests that he may have both widened and had some hypertrophy of the scar. Given the length and density of the scar, our approach is to excise the scar now, and if needed, next summer do a small hair case, likely by FUE, into the scar.
Note the dense scar excised, and a 3 layer trichophytic closure with suture removal on day 7.
Shown are intraop and 1 week pictures. I expect to see him soon for a scar check and then at the holidays and next summer.
