Alex - 28 - just diagnosed with scarring alopecia
Guys,
I've just been diagnosed with LPP which has the side effect of scaring alopecia. I had thick curly hair before.
I've had 500+ hairs falling out per day for the last month. It's not too bad at the moment and might be bearable depending on the meds I take.
I think it'll get to a stage where I'm going to shave it all off in the next 6 months as the shedding annoys me.
My question, presumably once I shave my head I will have noticeable scars. Has anyone else had this disease? Did you hide your scars to prevent unnecessary stares? Would you say smp is a good idea? Or shave the head each day? Laser hair removal?
Thanks
Alex

Hey Alex I also have scarring alopecia. unfortunately the scar tissue is noticeable because of the contrast difference of the color of the skin. I dont know how big your bald patches are but i currently use dermmatch to cover the scar tissue & make the remaining hair look thicker. i am definitely considering smp as it would be amazing to not have to worry about this anymore.
