    Default Fue & fut

I have not seen many examples or heard much discussion of someone doing both types of procedures. It seems like if you were going for a major repair you could benefit from having both procedures done (not at the same time), to maximize one's donor area?

It seems like you can get 4-6k grafts from both types of procedures which would be enough to "cure" most people. Other than price, I was wondering why this is not a common option for major repair patients? And if it is, it is a realistic approach for someone who is NW6?

    It's actually pretty common.

    Charlie,

You are right in the respect that if you wish to maximise your donor then you could benefit from both procedures. Anyone who is a Norwood 5 or 6 and wants to move as much hair as possible will need to have fut first and two procedures possibly three. Once FUT has been exhausted then a number of fue grafts would be available.

The actual number varies so much from patient to patient and whilst 6k of grafts on one Norwood 6 might look good on another it will not be enough. Head size, hair shaft diameter and characteristics, hairline design, head shape all play a huge part in the final result. Ultimately it really depends on what you are looking to achieve as to what might be the best approach for you personally.
