You definitly want to consider the internal 5ar inhibitor finasteride if you haven't already. It is considered the first line treatment for androgenic alopecia, but it must be prescribed by a doctor in most countries. There is much debate about potential rare side effects, but I have not experienced any in my 16 months of taking it (except for mild testicular ache during first week).

You could also try using nizoral shampoo twice per week (or more if your scalp can handle it). It's main active ingredient, ketoconazole, acts as a mild anti-androgen and the 1% is available without perscription in the US. I ususally wash my hair with a mild non-medicated shampoo then lather nizoral 2% and leave in for the duration of my shower.

I have been using finasteride (1/4 of a 5 mg tablet daily) and ketoconazole shampoo for 16 months now with no adverse effects and they seem to have halted or at least greatly slowed my aggressive hair loss. Good luck brother.
