Q about Azelaic acid/flakes

Hey everyone, I lurk here from time to time and really appreciate all the information you guys gather and share. I have a question about azelaic acid I'm hoping someone can answer it for me.

I'm trying to decide if I should purchase some azelaic flakes and add them to a bottle of Kirkland 5% or not. Is there any kind of consensus as to whether this is useful?

I read about adding them on a website I randomly found. I have no idea if the "recipes" on that site are legit or not, but assume so since the guy doesn't sell most of the mixtures himself (he does sell one of them though). i don't know if i can list that website here, but one of his recipes is called "minomuck." I searched the forums for that and came up with nothing.

So, I'm mainly curious about the azelaic flakes, but am curious about that minomuck stuff too. Is that a scam? Snake oil?
