    To the high norwoods...

When you started balding at the crown, how much further did it progress downwards as you got worse?

I have quite a bad thin spot on my crown but it's been there for a good couple of years now and hasn't moved much. If it doesn't progress any further downwards -meaning towards my neck- then I will be in a brilliant position for a hair transplant in the future with plenty of donor hair.

Do people normally progress further downwards from where they start balding or, is where it begins, the general limit of where it will stop??

    Cheers

Most men in my family are what could be called "permanent NW5 going on 6". As for the crown, there seems to be two different outlines, the NW5 outline beyond it into the NW4 area up to the front, it is slick bald and the NW6 outline that has thinned to like 50% I would say, and it just stays that way forever.

I see the same outline at the back of my head. I guess it depends on the person, I could see my final destination because I did not lose my hair in the form of classic male pattern baldness. My diffuse was equal all over my NW5-6 area, so you could see where I was headed from the beginning. If you're a classic receder, it may be harder to predict at what NW you will stop.

I'm generally diffusing as well but it's just worse at the crown and front. But overall the quality of the hair on the top of my hair has drastically reduced. so maybe that is a good sign that it won't progress lower?

It's crazy how thick the hair on the back of my head is!!!! The density is insane and to think that's what the rest of my hair used to look like.

Don't worry about it too much. When you read the forums, it sounds like we're all going end up NW7 with sparse donor, while it's in fact quite rare.

Even the baldest guys are just NW6 in the end.

I'm just curious to know I guess, I wondered if people generally didn't progress further down from where they started or not. I wish I knew my final norwood point.
