Low DHT levels
Does anyone know what propecia reduces DHT levels to on average? I just got some blood work back: everything normal but noticed DHT was low ( I don't use propecia)
Estradiol 0.1 pg/ml (normal <2.5)
DHEA 0.1 ng/ml (normal .09 - 1.6 ng/ml)
Testosterone 58 pg/ml (normal 40 - 170 pg/ml)
DHT <10 pg/ml (normal < 60 pg/ml)
my cortisol is high in the morning and low at night. Can anyone chime in on these stats? My doctor didn't have much to say.
I am only using 5% Minoxidil with fairly good results.

DHT is usually the main culprit of male pattern baldness. How bad is your hair loss?
If you are suffering from male pattern baldness and you have low DHT then it probably means your hair follicles are very susceptible to damage from DHT. People with both low or high DHT can both get male pattern baldness, it depends upon how susceptible your follicles are to its damage.
If you get on propecia then it will lower your DHT even further (nobody can tell you to what level), which chances are will reduce your hairloss. Propecia however will not reduce your DHT levels to zero so if your follicles are very susceptible to DHT then you might still have some hair loss.
Best thing is to try propecia on a low dosage to see if you avoid side effects and to see what results you get. Nobody can guarantee you it will completely halt your hair loss, although chances are it will work, and many people even get regrowth
Good luck!
