Dr. Lindsey 2000 graft repair case, McLean VA
This fellow had a poor scalp reduction scar. Additionally he’d had a smallish HT in the past elsewhere. We excised his old strip scar, obtained 2000 grafts, and placed them in the scalp reduction scar. The scar was quite firm and areas appeared to have good blood supply and other areas nearby seemed more tenuous. Nevertheless, these 16 month pictures emailed in show a reasonable result. Also shown are 2 month pictures emailed in.
I’ve had the occasion to do maybe 10 of these cases, all strip repairs of wide and tough scalp reduction scars. It’s always tough to tell whether the scar’s blood supply will support hair growth. Fortunately in this case it appears to have done so quite well. Particularly with the combination of really dark hair and fairly light skin, reasonable growth is mandatory for cosmetic improvement.
