Nioxin shampoo
Whatever happened to this product? I have a friend that used to use this and he said it worked wonders for him. I went to buy it on the internet and everyone was complaining cause they changed the ingredients in the shampoo and now it was not effective. I think Proctor and Gamble bought it and changed everything. Why would they change the ingredients if it worked so well?? Guess it worked too well and they didn't want that.

Nioxin sucks, there is absolutely nothing in Nioxin that helps with hair loss, use Regenpure or Lipogaine Big 3 as it has Ketoconazole in it, don't use Nizoral as it will fry your hair, Regenpure has Aloe in it to help with that.

Everything that I have read about Nioxin tells me that it is overpriced garbage. Don't waste your time with it.

It's a cleanser that's why it worked, those negative reviews on amazon are stupid because you get other companies down grade a product and always use that bullshit line. Look at the reviews on Revita it's the same bullshit comments of another company downgrading it, but for me Revita is wonderfull. i use Nioxin system 2 prior to leaving regenepure or Revita on and have been doing so for a long time, Nioxin is a bit like washing your hair with Dawn dish washer as it cleanses the sebum off the scalp.

Good to know. I'm currently on Fin and I use Nioxin. I will look into buying some Regenepure also to add to the routine.

Nioxin was the first thing I used to fight hairloss at the recommendation of a friend I went to high school with who cuts my hair. It never grew more hair or even slowed down the hairloss, but it did make my hair look fuller. I recently started using the Toppik shampoo and conditioner instead and I would highly recommend it as a volumizing shampoo and conditioner over Nioxin. It makes my hair look better than Nioxin ever did and it is SLS free. It smells really good too. I have never used the other shampoos mentioned so far in this thread but I have heard good things about them.
Also, I use Nizoral 2% on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I don't have any problems with it frying my hair unless I use it 2 days in a row.

I just checked the ingredients of Nioxin online and i have an old bottle i used many years ago at the bottom of my bathroom shelves and the ingredients are exactly the same, it was actually a good shampoo at first but the hairless starts again in few weeks, none lasting effects
What exactly you think they have changed?

It is possible that Proctor and Gamble may have changed the shampoo formula in order to make it more cost effective to produce, or to adhere to certain standards for safety or environmental sustainability. The fact that most dermatologists recommend this brand to treat hair shed and scalp disorders excited our curiosity. We decided to dive deeper to find out where magic comes from and wrote an article about the efficacy and safety of Nioxin Shampoo Ingredients. Hope that's helpful!
