Default Light brown hair shedding thick darker miniaturized hair

    Hey,

I was just wondering if any of you guys are going or went through something similar to me that has been ongoing since I started shedding.

I've been on 1mg of propecia for 7 and a half months now and I think around 3 to 4 months my hair seemed thicker, but recently I'm going through a hardcore 2 month shed leaving me worse off before baseline.
The thing is those shedded hairs are mostly in between 0.5 to 3 inches long and seem darker and thicker than my terminal hair.
Miniaturised hair gradually gets thinner and lighter in colour as well as shorter, right?
Is there anyone else who has experienced something similar? And if so, is this good or bad news?

    Thankyou

If you are buying Propecia online, that could be related to the shed. Are you taking any new medications alongside the Propecia? Anti-allergy medication or blood thinners? Has your degree of stress recently spiked?

    Thanks for the response 35YrsAfter.

I do buy propecia online here in the uk from somewhere called Pharmactdirectgb. Everything seems legit with the product- packaging, medical instructions, pill shape and size...me shedding. And should be considering the money I'm paying each month.
How would buying propecia online be any different in causing a heavy shed compared to buying it from a local pharmacy? I'm pretty certain it's not fake.

The only other medication I take is a small dose of 5% minoxidil on the hairline twice daily and Nizoral shampoo two or three times a week. Besides that, a few vitamins. And no stress that I'm aware of.

I will add, the reason I use only a small dose of Minox is because when I previously applied the recommended dose it lowered my blood pressure.

The same exact thing is/has happened to me. I'm 8 months through though.

Everything feeling better-ish after a few months, then from mid january to the start of april I shed like a damn dog, tons of thin hair. Just recently it has been only a few hairs in the shower/styling every day for a week or so now, so that's good. But I'm definitely at or below baseline now. Which sucks. Same treatment as you, only I get a generic from a CVS on prescription.

I can't comment on Pharmactdirectgb because I know nothing about them.

As far as buying things online, my wife and I buy our prescription eyeglasses online and save a small fortune. Single vision CR-39 uncut (circular blanks) lenses only cost an optometrist or ophthalmologist a few dollars each. Lenses are commonly marked up over 10x once they are cut and edged and placed in an eyeglass frame. Buying eyeglass frames and lenses online is a great way to save money. With something like glasses purchased online, once you get them, you can inspect them for quality, frame order accuracy and try them on to make sure the prescription is right. Generic medications purchased online are a completely different story. There is no way to judge formula accuracy, purity, or potency. A blank or compromised medication can be made to look just like the real deal. May not be a bad idea to investigate the actual lab where the finasteride is manufactured.

If it were me, I would stick to a name brand just to be on the safe side.

I definitely get your point. That's why the propecia brand I order is Merck. Well..It says it's Merck. You've made me question whether it is due to the fact that I purchase it online.
