Donor Hair Area - Losing Hair

    Hi All,

I feel like I am losing a lot of hair in my donor area. The hair quality changed and when I tug at the sides and back of head I get 3-6 hairs come right out. My hair is starting the thinning process all over (38)...i think people would say I still have hair but it is miniaturizing pretty bad. After I shower and towel dry i see lots of 'light' wispy hair. A few just float right into the sink after I towel dry.

Is the fact that my donor area is behaving in much the same way as the rest of my head mean I am a diffuse thinner? If so, do diffuse thinners tend to go bald or just very, very thin?

    Thanks all

Has anyone else in your family experienced this? How's your diet? I once took ibuprofen, Allegra for allergies and glucosamine and chondroitin. My hair thinned all over by about 30%. Check the listed side effects of all medication you are taking, even over the counter. In the meantime consider using Rogaine and taking a supplement like "Hair Skin and Nails" by Buried Treasure. Massage, and brushing are of some benefit as well.

I would recommend if at all possible visiting a hair restoration physician so you can have your scalp and hair examined directly. This cannot be done online.
