Not to burst everyone's bubble, but Dr. Xu (his team created epithelial cells from stem cells) emailed me back, and he agrees that retaining the gene expression of DP cells is probably not that easy.

    to me
"Maintaining the folliculogenicity of DP cells may not be as easy as it appears despite several papers in the literature. We are gearing up to make hair follicles composed entirely of human cells from a same person. We all hope the solution to baldness can be sooner. Research funding has been cut in recent years, it would be great if we can get more funding to do some of the research that we would like to do. Thanks"

I suggested to him that they try a less traditional form of crowd-sourcing, i think it's crazy that there isn't enough money for baldness research when there are so many bald men out there who I'm sure would give a few bucks. I really think that someone on this forum who spends all their time on here anyway and has some kickstarter and marketing savvy should get on making a kickstarter account to fund these guys' efforts. I'm sure if we spread it the right way on facebook, twitter, etc, etc, that millions could be raised. Instead of crying and whinging and speculating on here, the people on these forums should do something to help out our good scientists. they are working as fast as they can with the resources that they have.

People we're stupid enough to crowd source for something as ridiculous as a garbage movie like Veronica Mars.

      Think about it.
