I have been using Rogaine off and on for years and haven't noticed any negative side effects. It helps to thicken up my hair a little but that's about it. As I've mentioned here before, my brother in law's hair receded pretty good when he was in his twenties. It receded to a point and stayed that way into old age. No baldness in the back. Your family history of hair loss often serves as an indicator of where your hair could go.

IMO, I'd start a treatment. Use only proven ones because you go crazy staring at your hair "praying" for it to grow. Go to bernstein medicals site, has some before and after of guys using medical treatments. Treatments are cheap. Yeah some get sides but there are side effects for everything. Best of luck!
