Default New member, was NW7 at 23

Hi all, new to the site and I was NW7 at the age of 23, now 39. I joined especially because I am particularly intrigued by the social impact of hair loss. And throughout my young adulthood I must say I ended up traumatised again and again and again.

I honestly had no personal insecurities or embarrassment resulting directly from balding, or going about with a horseshoe for over 15 years. But given people's sometimes extreme reactions to me as a person, it could be a contributing factor. Maybe part of a chain effect, and such significant balding at a young age could be a big link in the chain.

I appreciate that for me there were other factors too, but as far as hair loss is concerned I realised mainly in retrospect just how big a role it might have had. This is because I have been shaving my head for the past 6 months, usually on zero guard, and people's reactions to me have totally changed and were apparent right from the moment I shaved my head. Let's say things have been much more "human" for me since then.

My story is similar, was NW7 by 25, but never gave a shit because baldness kinda suits me. I look somewhat similar to my avatar.

I don't understand, if you don't care about baldness then what are you doing on a hairloss forum?

If I didn't care about being bald or even going bald, I wouldn't even have looked for a hair loss forum or even subscribe to one. The day I don't give a crap about hair loss is the day I stop logging into this site.

A lot of the way people perceive and interact with others is based on their self esteem, self confidence, and general attitude of that person. I have many friends who have significant hair loss and they are very successful in business and with their personal life.
