I think the problem is the bigger companies are expanding too fast and are putting to work less experienced practitioners.
Jonathan G and Matt Lulo do amazing work out of NYC. I have posted pics of the work Matt has done on me and I could not be happier. He managed the NYC HIS office and US expansion before Jonathan got there and has done close to 3k heads. Both guys now run their own clinics.
I posted pics in different thread along with another guy who had his head done by Matt. Soft hairlines are key to natural looking heads along with varying colors and density.

Client choice
I agree. The client has to be specific about what they want and find the right practitioner to execute it. Don't settle for the trainee, find the people with history and reputation.
