Thanks a lot for your help everyone.

I think I will grab the fin and the minidoxil. At this point, I have enough hair where it looks pretty good with the right thickening agent, so I would rather go this route before a HT.

Aside the obvious side effects of fin (i read some of those other threads...hope i dont get the puffy nips), are there other risks with backfire? Like, fin or minidoxil triggers crazy shedding or thinning?

If there is no risk of reverse effects, it seems like a no-brainer to me.

If the symptoms begin to appear, lower the dose, correct? I am hearing long-term effects are extremely rare.

I get 5mg Finasteride(fincar) pills online. Just google inhousepharmacy and it should be the top link. I get generic(kirkland) minoxidil 5% from amazon. I have only been treating for a little over 8 months(8 months minox, 7 months fin) now and I have had some regrowth. I have a thread in the introduction section of this site if you want to check it out.

As far as shedding goes, I would say to expect it. It will be tough, but you have to fight through it. This is probably the toughest stage in the treatment process.

I am ordering fina now. start with the 1 mg pills, right??

Also, I am asssuming move up to the 5 mg eventually.

no no no,

the thing is that the 5mg pills are cut into fourths (usually) to use 1.25mg each time. The reason being is that the 5mg are cheaper than the 1mg because of their different designations.

the 1mg pills are much much more expensive, but you don't have to cut them.

So i am grabbing the Fincar 1 MG on http://www.inhousepharmacy.biz/.

Should get my package in 10 days or so. I will keep everyone posted with progress (i know, it will take 9+ months to really know anything).

I am also stacking it with Hair Maxx, which is a kerotine supplement on amazon that had really good reviews.

I have been taking a topical minidoxil for the last 6-8 months ago, but my hair loss has never been worse....(Spectral DNC-L with 5% minidoxil)

Question is, do I continue using some sort of minidoxil treatment in fear that i am going to lose all the hair that perhaps minidoxil helped me keep? Or, is 9 months sufficient time to know that minidoxil didn't do jack s### for me?

My problem is more with just thinning everywhere, my cortex doesn't have a bald patch or anything, and I am reading more and more that minidoxil primarily treats the cortex.

Got the fin in the mail today.

Today starts my fin journey. My balls were shaking as I took that first pill lol...starting off with 1/2 MG a day. I will keep everyone posted.

Also, is there any effective options for minox that is NOT topical?

I am going to stack fin with kero (hair maxx - I feel like my hair is stronger, longer...could be placebo)

...and a minox...preferably, one that is not topical, as it makes my thinning hair look stringy.

I thought that would be a good starting point. If I dont have any side effects, think i will push it up to 1 MG in a month or so.

Obviously, reading the forums can make anyone paranoid. I think most people that are posting are probably posting because they had negative experiences. I am going to keep my mind off it...just get in a routine.
