Cancer.
No right-thinking person should hesitate to answer that immediately.

I think it's an interesting question. Clearly it is because of the (mostly) interesting responses it got.
It's a question that puts things into perspective but also shows how our own problems dominate our outlook to absurd extents. Any sane person wouldn't hesitate to say cancer but then again are we (the balding community) fully sane when we spend so much time worrying about the patch of hair on our heads? Is anyone sane? Everyone has their hang-ups.

Even thinking of choosing Baldness over cancer makes me feel like a bad person... however a kind of dark topic, but kinda interesting, if I were to truly think think what fatal/non-fatal disease I would chose hair loss cure over it would be Aids.

If one of your family member ever had cancer, baldness would only be an afterthought.

I can tell you even people that are gravely ill do care how they look still. I am not saying MPB is worse then cancer I am just saying its human nature to care about what you look like no matter what your going through so I sympathize with people that worry or obsess over it because hair is a pretty defining part of your uniqueness.
Oh i didnt read the original question. Of course cancer its stupid to think otherwise as much as wish both
