    Nutrition, Fitness and Weight

    How influential do you think these factors are on balding?

    Im just watching MOTD (a soccer highlight show for you in the US) and im thinking it can't be a coincidence that 90% of these football players have a good head of hair! Or is this me clutching at straws?

    Im a lot overweight atm 20st 7lb but down 12lbs in the first month. Anyone think my weight and previous diet could be causing my hair loss? And it may improve the more weight i lose?

    You're clutching at straws, it's genetics.

      According to http://www.hairloss-reversible.com/
      , he saved his hair through diet and scalp exercises.

      His name is Tom Hagerty.

        That's that same stupid crap that claims mpb is due to scalp tightness, it's garbage.

          Come on! He wouldn't have lost his hair in the first place, scalp exercises or not.

              Clutching at straws. You'll see homeless people who have a horrific diet and hygiene that have thick heads of hair. Once people realize their hair is thinning they wishfully want to believe it's due to diet or anything other than MPB due to genetics.

                That's because we want to feel that we have some sort of control over what is happening to us, but of course we don't.

                  These other factors probably have more to do with scalp and hair quality versus quantity. However, your general / internal health should always trump physical appearance.

                    Its not 100% 'clutching at straws'

                    If your hygiene and diet interfere with hormonal processes in your body, it can negatively affect those things that are most sensitive to those kinds of changes.

                      androgenic alopecia

                      andro = androgens
                      genic = genetics

                      diet, stress, health, fitness etc can and does effect hormones/androgens

                      of course genetics is by far the main culprit because any normal healthy male will have sufficient adrogen levels and with that trigger their hairloss
