Rogaine causing shed on side of head?

This possible? I'm only applying it to the top. I'm losing tons of hairs from the side. Only been a few days.

My guess would be when you apply it, it tends to run down your head. Im sure this could cause a shed on the side of your head in the first few days. Stick with it

I'm thinking the same thing as horte. If it is because of minoxidil, it may be a good thing. Hopefully it thickens up the sides. What would suck is if it thickened up the sides and did absolutely nothing on the top of your head. Damn that horseshoe.

I don't think it hurts to apply Rogaine to the entire scalp. That would be ironic that a hair loss topical would itself cause hair loss. There are, as with all medications, extremely rare side effects. I think thinning on the sides is most likely the result of something else. Years ago, I took Allegra for allergies, glucosamine and chondroitin for joint pain and ibuprofen. My hair thinned really bad on the sides as a result. If you haven't already checked, Google anything you are currently taking, including nutritional supplements. Sometimes stress alone is enough to cause some temporary hair loss. According to a an identical twin (epigenetic) study by Sharon Keene MD in Arizona, the worst things for your hair are stress, cigarette smoking, sunburn and alcoholism. Coffee on the other hand is good for your hair.
