salicylic peel after hair transplant?
Wuddup!
I'm 5 1/2 months post op. So far so good, but not good enough yet to post pics for all you hairless armchair critics.
So I've got some acne and sun spots and a dermatologist recommended getting a salicylic peel- basically they coat your face in salicylic acid (SA). Question is, is this too rough for the baby hairs growing on my hairline? I know a few anti-dandruf shampoos have has salicylc acid (SA), and some people rave about it, but is a peel too strong? Should I have them maybe give a half an inch room from the hairline where they DON'T put the SA? Or should I just dip my fuking head in it b/c it'll grow a four foot afro?
Thoughts? Anybody done this?

I don't have much to add about the actual impact of salycylic acid--although SA is fairly strong stuff, relatively speaking, and can irritate sensitive skin--but think of it this way: if you get the peel, and your transplant result turns out to be anything other than a complete knockout, you'll always wonder if the peel hurt your results. You'll never be able to know what the alternative would have been, so it'll gnaw at you. Just for the sake of peace of mind, I'd hold off. Also, I'd get a second opinion about the peel. Go to a plastic surgeon in your area that does exclusively facial work--they tend to be the best and most knowledgeable about facial procedures--even non-surgical ones.
