Well hopefully everything clears up for you. AA sounds like a pretty crappy thing to deal with along with MPB.

Thanks mate I'll report back in a couple of months, it might be useful for other people to know. AA is potentially a lot worse than MPB, and it would be a real irony if minox was the cause. We'll see

Hi guys. I've been on Fin for 2 years, never had any side effects or even any major shedding. A year ago I added Rogaine foam to my regime, hoping to fill out the small thinning area around my crown.

After a year of Rogaine, I really haven't seen much improvement. So I've decided to give it up (but I will keep on the fin). Thanks in advance.

I used Rogaine for years. I stopped for about 2 years and didn't notice much difference. I'm back using it. Since minoxidil is an antihypertensive vasodilator medication, I have wondered if it's just the improved blood circulation that improves hair growth. Aggressive hair brushing, massage and scalp exercises seem to improve the quality of my hair.

Good question... Probably just makes me feel better using it, like I'm maximizing what hair I have.

Ah, I see. So in other words it makes you feel better doing everything that you can to save your hair. I'm still debating trying monox, I've heard so many varying experiences with it.

I think it's the fear of "what might happen if I stop it" that keeps people on Rogaine. It's the unknown, the "what ifs". That's what makes hair loss companies so wealthy - half of the time it's based on people's fear and emotional dependency on the products.

I'm sure that the success rates of minoxidil are grossly over-estimated, although I'm sure it does work for some people.

I think that if you don't experience a severe shed at the beginning of treatment, then that's an indication that the product will not work for you. I experienced no increased shedding and after a year, no noticeable results.
