Dermarolling and Hair Transpalnt??

I have been Dermarolling for 3+ months and I'm thinking about getting a hair transplant soon. Do you think it's likely to have a negative impact?? in a sense that I might have toughened up the skin on my head meaning that it might be harder to grafts to be placed up there?

What do you guys reckon?

I doubt that it will have an effect, as many hair transplant surgeons now advocate dermarolling. Of course, you shouldn't roll on the newly transplants grafts, but I'm sure you already know that.

Talk to your surgeon about it for sure. But it's my guess that because there's not a heap of experiences of dermarolling 3 months before a transplant, then you'll only get best guesses. Those in favor of transplants might say it's worth the risk and people more conservative might say it's not to take the risk.

If there's any slight chance that dermarolling before a transplant might have a negative impact, then how would that influence things? Would it possibly change whether you get the transplant or how or when you get the transplant?

If you do go ahead, definitely discuss with the doctor beforehand any worse case scenarios just in case. Such as discussing with the doctor about whether your donor area is thick enough to add more density later, and if everything goes to plan, what's the plan if the original hair continues to fall. You might have already discussed these things with your doc. It's best to have backup plans that you feel good about.
