    Question Dutasteride and 5AR-1 Dht

I am not too well up on the medical knowledge surrounding the effects of fin and dut, however from what I have read is that while Dutasteride blocks a higher percentage of 5AR-2 Dht than Finasteride, I've also read that it blocks a fair amount of 5-AR1 of which Finasteride blocks none. Now I am tempting by dutasteride's ability to block a higher percentage of 5AR-2 Dht, however one thing that is creeping me out about putting dut into my body is that the long term effects of 5AR-1 Dht remains unknown. Hence, I'm wondering if it's worth the risk trying dutasteride for hair loss when it is blocking something that studies have not follow up on regarding it's long term effects.

Am I correct in exercising caution here regarding this issue, or am I been unnecessarily paranoid?

This is why the majority of people just take fin, it's approved and studied more thoroughly for hairloss. Everyone knows that dut is more effective, but nobody is quite sure the differences is side effects.

Yes the major concern is 5ar1 inhibition as there is no longterm real life model as we have with inhibting 5ar2 (long term fin studies, ppl with 5ar2 defect)

IMO mental sides are the biggest concern with dut because of 5ar1 inhibition, so if you get brain fog that doesn't go away with continued use then you know dut isn't for you. A smaller dose like 0.5 every third day will inhibit less than half of 5ar1 so you could try with that.
