    Message For Dr. Wesley

I've been a longtime contributor over at the "other" forum for quite a while...I was one of the first "border jumpers" in 1997 who got FIN in the US before it was approved in Canada...I've read a million posts and pretty much have tried anything and everything to help fight hairloss...

I've followed all the rhetoric on hair restoration, pretty much since I first saw Bosley's TV commercials many, many moons ago...

While many HT surgeons are maintaining the "status quo" with the services they are offering, it is CLEAR Dr. Wesley is pushing the envelope with new and innovated ways to improve HT procedures. Listening to his presentation at the conference in October, I could hear an enthusiasm in his voice coupled with an advanced "visionary" tone married with strong scientific expertise...

..having said that -- Dr. Wesley, I think I speak for many, many readers when I say "we're ready for Pilofocus" ... Bring it on!! The line-up will be long and there will be resistance from other HT surgeons to move away from their "lucrative and comfortable" practices...but at this point, I am in the camp of many that will not proceed with traditional FUE until this advancement is ready to "go"

Thank you for your message, Sparky4444. I really appreciate it. As you have gathered, I am a deep believer in the promise of this method of hair follicle harvesting. The potential benefits to both donor and recipient areas as compared to the current methods (FUT & FUE) have motivated our team since the inception of the idea in 2008.

While there is always a "two steps forward, one step back" path of progress with any new scientific endeavor, I've been more and more encouraged with the instrument's efficacy and ease of use. My hope is that we will submit our FDA application in the next few months and realize this method (first for very small cases and then for larger cases) in the near future.

Although you are likely correct in anticipating some resistance from a handful of practices, I must say that I was so encouraged by the reception of my colleagues in person at the ISHRS Meeting. After hearing the formal presentation of piloscopy, the vast majority of doctors in our field spoke both publicly and privately (to me) in support of the novel technique. Ultimately, our plan is not to restrict access to piloscopy to our clinic alone, but rather make it safe and effective enough for any skilled specialist to use so that patients will be able to visit their favorite surgeon for the procedure.

Dr Wesley, I have been so glad to see that the members here, overall, have been showing much deserved respect to you and for what you are trying to accomplish via Pilofocus.
As you know Ive been very supportive of you and that support is not based on any speculations.
Experiencing that private Pilofocus Presentation shown directly by you on Skype early last year and then the conversations we have had since then, had educated me based on those positive FACTS.
This Spring will be an interesting time of year!

Great thread Sparky4444 ! Thank you for supporting Dr Wesley!
