Default Why do I keep seeing old people with perfect hair?

Are they all on propecia or some shit? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

I agree with this. I see more younger people balding now than ever.

I have client who is about 65 years old with the thickest longest hair and a perfect hairline.

While some friends of mine who aren't even 27 have balding and receding problems

Because only less than 6% of ALL people are bald and thats being generous, the majority of hair loss cases are slight and can be covered easily. Think about it:

    7,003,554,291 people
    3,526,050,280 males

Excluding those males who are unlikely to be noticeably thinning.
    1,251,445,975 males between 0-19 and
    307,940,601 males between 20-24

    So potential baldies =
    1,966,663,704 males between 25-100

    Using the "standard %" ie 25% < 30yrs, 30% < 40yrs, 40% < 50yrs etc =
806229175 male hair loss victims or 12% of the world population.

Now the "standard %" above is ALWAYS used in the context of "experience some hair loss", ie 30% of all males in their 30's experience "SOME" hair loss. As we all know some hair loss may be as little as some slight recession or the complete slap head.

The overly optimistic idea that at least half of the 806229175 male hair loss victims are noticeably thinning, thinned, thinished (haha) to everybody around them leaves 403114587 chrome domes or 6% of the total world population.

6% is depressing so think of it as 12% of all men. If you're still feeling down about it then think about the poor woman with one of the 12%, she had an 88% chance of landing a man with hair, talk about bad luck. Feel better?

Social example: A bar with 10 men (you being one of them) and 10 woman, there is a high chance your the only... well yeah.

Excluding the "non dating" population and going with the 25-49 age bracket (I'm not including 20-24 as I put this in the unlikely to be noticeably thinning category) I get this:

    2,489,440,958 people
    1,261,181,982 males

    Potential baldies =
    395649941 males between 25-49

The overly optimistic at least half leaves 197824970 noticeably thinning, thinned, thinished or 8% (16% of men) of that selection of the population.

Social example: Lets go back to the bar with 10 men and 10 woman. Now you have a better than 50% chance of having a buddy!

Don't get too excited just yet. As we all know women don't age well either and most woman over 30 are undateable anyway, which only leaves 532,945,957 total woman of our "dating" population... worldwide. Whoa. Total men minus our noticeably thinning men = 1,063,357,012 men with unnoticeable hair loss.

Social example: 1,261,181,982 men competing for 532,945,957 woman, and 1,063,357,012 (84%) of all the men, almost twice the total amount of woman, have unnoticeable hair loss. Yikes.

I don't have time to add variables like height into the equation.

I think it simply has to do with genes---whats the saying you get your hair loss depending on if your mother's father is suffering from it?

At my local grocery store I looked just for the heck of it. I would say roughly 50% of the men are balding. Now some are much older and there are some old men with most/all of their hair but it is the exception. Just look around when you go out to stores and such.

Everywhere I go I see people losing their hair, the sad thing is I see quite a few women losing hair as well.

Did not read this post until the thread got bumped. Numbers are wrong. At least w/ white guys, most are visibly balding at some point in their 20s (if you are good at NW spotting or diffuse spotting you will realize this). Luckily women usually do not think of it as balding until you are NW 2.5-3 (some are even oblivious at NW3 but it can depend on styling), however they will subconsciously realize the dimensions of your face are off
By middle age virtually all white guys have hair loss except a handful of lucky ones

Height matters but it is nothing compared to having an attractive face (part of that comes from hair)
