    Thanks for the post, Trichoscience.
Now, when it says that the procedure has shown results in previous trials and tests, can you elaborate on that a little bit? Are there any photos of patients who underwent this procedure? Are there any papers or abstracts that have been written for the results?

Also, how long do you think it'll take before this technology is available to the public?

    Thanks.

Excellent questions; I am looking forward to learning more about this technology.

As an additional question -- Will this technology be available to men that have already undergone hair transplantation?

    Thank you,

I saw this on another site. It looks promising

Excerpt from the latest filing for Replicel (TrichoScience) at the SEC
    » »
» » "We received written approval to conduct the study on November 11, 2010
» » from the Georgian National Bioethics Committee. Biopsies from the 20
» » patients participating in the TS001-2009 study will be collected during
    » the
» » month of December 2010 and sent to Innovacell Biotechnologie AG in
» » Innsbruck, Austria for processing. The study product will be ready for
» » injection into study participants about mid-February 2011. At this time,
» » participants will not only receive an injection of their replicated
    » cells
» » on one part of the scalp, but will also receive an injection of placebo
» » (cellular transport medium without replicated cells) on the other side
    » of
» » the scalp. This will allow for better assessment of the safety and
    » efficacy
    » » of our technology.
    » »
» » "We anticipate collecting data from the 6 month time point in early
» » September 2011. This data will allow for analysis of our primary
    » endpoint
» » of the study in the form of an interim analysis. Patients will continue
» » participating in the study through early 2013 when the 24-month visits
    » will
    » » be conducted.
    » »
» » The first patient was enrolled into the trial on December 7, 2010. The
» » remaining patients will be enrolled at the end of January 2011,
    » following
» » the Georgian orthodox holiday season.
    » »
» » Regulatory approval for our technology is subject to different
    » regulations
» » for different jurisdictions. Initiating human trials requires different
» » depths and volume of pre-clinical research prior to approval for
» » first-in-man trials. However, common to virtually all jurisdictions, is
    » to
» » demonstrate in humans the safety of the technology. Our first trial has
» » been developed to prove safety first and efficacy second.
    » »
» » Commercial approval will require that safety has been demonstrated.
» » However, commercial sales will only require that we demonstrate efficacy
    » to
» » the public. We will not be required to get approval from private or
» » government insurance plans with respect to pharmacoeconomics, as the
» » product purchase decision is not medical, but rather personal."
    »
    »
» This company has a LONG road ahead of it.. and as Iron Man correctly
» stated/quoted, better solutions may emerge (or already have emerged) than
» this... but it's always great to have other approaches to fall back on in
» case things don't pan out as expected. So this definitely is good news,
» I've always liked the TrichoScience approach.. let's hope it brings some
» good results sooner rather than later

So I guess the TrichoScience procedure won't be available anytime soon? Will HSC be available before all other next generation cures?

can someone explain how this compares with the clinical approach being taken by Aderans. the technology sounds similar to Aderans .. sample of cells taken from patient, then cultured and injected into patient but the clinical approach looks different.
Aderans must demonstrate safety and efficacy to the government (relevant heath body) but Trichosciene only needs to demonstrate safety to the government body. so does that mean they can take a shorter approval route ?

I emailed Trichoscience the other week as I was feeling desperate for new information especially regarding their expected timelines etc. Here's their response....

    Hi

Thank you for contacting us. Yes, we have started human trials. We cannot say
exactly when we will have results from these trials, but we expect to have some
information by the end of the year. Until we have completed all our clinical
trials (we are currently in Phase I of what will likely be at least three,
depending on results), we can make no predictions regarding efficacy or
    commercial availability.

    Regards,

They seem to be pretty good at responding to enquiries at least.
